Prince of Scots makes the Top 10 List of the best of the Hamptons.  Cristina’s selections   Check out the top ten at Guest of a Guest.

1. SURF AT ROAD G
Surf at Road G in Southampton at the end of Meadow Lane with my Flying Point Surf Shop attire – 4/3 Roxy wetsuit for colder temps, and different length boards depending on the waves. Sometimes I go with my kids for picnics or to climb on the rocks at the jetty down at the Shinnecock inlet. It’s the most beautiful sunset and different every time, just as every wave is unique.

2. THE HEDGES INN IN EAST HAMPTON
The Hedges InnSpend a night at the historic Hedges Inn in East Hampton just to be able to feast on my favorite breakfast in the morning. Ann Clarke’s frothy meringue atop a half grapefruit is mouth-watering. Followed by the baked eggs with mushrooms, you’ll have to skip lunch that day.

3. THE HAMPTON MAID
The Hampton MaidI also love the Hampton Maid in Hampton Bays. My kid’s love the lemon ricotta pancakes and I customize an egg white omelette.

4. THE TENET BOUTIQUE
The Tenet boutique in Southampton is so chic and sells my staples – Isabel Marant t-shirts, skirts, and bracelets, Ulla Johnson dresses, J Brand denim, and Rag and Bone boots. Marant’s husband, Jerome Dreyfuss, has some cool handbags there. Jesse Warren, the owner, is a great clothing curator.

5. SANT AMBROEUS
Sant AmbroeusThe best ice cream to treat my kids to after a day of boogie-boarding and surfing is sorbet and gelato at Sant Ambroeus in Southampton. Tropical fruit flavors like passion fruit, coconut, and mango are the perfect day’s happy ending.

6. AERIN
I live in fedoras all summer to block the harsh rays and Aerin in Southampton sells mellow and pretty ones. I also can’t live without her straw clutches with her signature heart. They make the best houseguest presents too.

7. HOMENATURE
HomenatureSpeaking of houseguest presents, Homenature is chock full of them. Anything lucite from Alexandra von Furstenberg – all modern trays, tiny vases, and boxes.

8. THE GREEN THUMB MARKET
Green Thumb FarmWhen I’m in Water Mill after a rigorous Tracey Anderson cardio class, I rush to the Green Thumb market which I have been a loyal patron of since I was a kid and my mother would take me strawberry picking in their fields. I buy local eggs, some asparagus, fresh tarragon, Mecox Farms’ cheese, organic tomatoes, onions, and then whip up tasty scrambled eggs at home.

9. PRINCE OF SCOTS
Prince of Scots, Also a fantastic shop in Water Mill, is Prince of Scots which has Etro gift items and the most colorful swim suits, towels, throws, and other chic finds. It’s also the perfect pooch presents place in town. Who wouldn’t love an Etro doggy leash and collar for their new rescue from Gimme Shelter?

10. SWALLOW EAST
Swallow EastLastly, since I am on a food track this summer reviewing restaurants for my magazine, BEACH, I have fallen for kid-friendly restaurants and here are some of their top dishes – Swallow’s East shrimp and grits dinner in Montauk, truffle pizza in Amagansett, Osteria Salinas’ homemade sausage, broccoli rabe, garlic and pasta in Bridgehampton, and a few other dishes and their recipes you can find in my Food and Fiction issue out August 1st.
